How to Level Up and Earn Points in the JOSC Race Series
Chasing a podium spot or just love a good challenge? The JOSC Race Series rewards you for running far, placing high, and showing up all season long. Here is the breakdown of how the points work and how you can score free races for next year.
1. Distance + Placement = Maximum Points
The general rule is simple: the longer the race and the higher you place, the more points you rack up.
For example, if you run the Sledgehammer Beach Run Half Marathon and finish as a Top Overall runner, you’ll pocket a massive 75 points.
Why push for series placement?
Beyond ultimate bragging rights, top finishers win FREE races for the following season. If you finish as the 3rd Overall Female in 2026, you'll earn a free entry into a 2027 race.
2. Stack Up Bonus Points
You don't just have to rely on speed to climb the leaderboard—consistency and extra events pay off, too!
Bonus Race Points (+10 Points): Sign up and participate in designated bonus races like Miles for Mammos or the White Elephant Fun Run to add an automatic 10 points to your total.
Consistency Tier 1 (+20 Points): Complete 9 out of 9 eligible races (with a minimum of 5 completed in person) to unlock a 20-point series bonus.
Consistency Tier 2 (+10 Points): Go above and beyond by completing all 11 out of 11 races (min. 5 in person) to snag an additional 10 bonus points on top.
